The last part of the motor that means the shaft is connected to a gear and that is called worm gear. It is connected with a larger gear.
The main works of this worm gear are to transfer power or motion to that larger gear.
From the worm gear, the gear named large gear gets motion. It is a reduction gear. But through this gear, motion transfers to the chuck.
In the center of the large gear there is a shaft and through this shaft the power transfers to the chuck.
There is a switch on the top of the drill machine. This switch is called by the rotary switch. This switch has the mechanism of choosing the option for the person who drills.
There are two options. One is right and another one is left. These two options define two working system.
- If you turn the switch right then the machine will work anti-clockwise and that means you have selected only drill mode.
- If you have turned the rotary switch left, that means you have selected the drill bit moves clockwise. This means not only the drilling is on but also the hammering option is also on.
The hammering action gets activated by using a pin which is attached to the rotary switch.
Actually, it is attached to the wedge and when you turn the rotary switch left means clockwise the pin moves and pushes the wedge. That wedge pushes the hammering action to get activated.
And thus the hammering action gets a started.
Large gear ribs:
If you remove the larger gear and check it thoroughly you will found that the mechanism is ribbed. This ribbed is used for reducing vibro-activity of the transferring gear.
The spring holds the force means tension for activating the operation continuously for drilling. The spring moves and along with that the drill bit also moves.
In a nutshell, the working process of a hammer drill machine is not so difficult. The hammering option is the main attraction of this drilling machine.
And the activation process of this is not that much hard. Only the rotary switch will activate the process.
